Totem Point Lodge is located along the shores of the beautiful French River in Ontario, Canada. Fishing takes place just west of Lake Nipissing, to the rapids of the North Channel of the French River.
Our area boasts hundreds of miles of deep shoreline available without portage, giving you access to some of the prime fishing waters of the province of Ontario. Weather and rough waters are rarely a concern and you can always get out to fish since the waters are sheltered and never get rough. We have 7 sets of rapids at the outer perimeters of our area which abound with numerous species of fish, especially Walleye, Small Mouth Bass, Northern Pike and the illusive Muskie (quite possibly the next record Muskie will come from French River).
Imagine two ferocious fish like the Northern Pike and Muskie using the same waters as their natural habitat! We’ve got it here for you at Totem Point Lodge!
Along with the aforementioned species, these waters also contain Whitefish, Sturgeon, Bullheads, Catfish, some Perch and pan fish. (Sorry, no Trout).
We offer you a vast amount of water, cover, irregular bottom and deep holes that sustain all these species of fish. The river has 150 to 200 feet deep holes, is two to three miles wide in places and has numerous islands and bays. All of this in a wilderness type setting just minutes away from the lodge.
Although guides are not required, we recommend the first time visitor take advantage of this service. Guides work for the guests. They operate either our pontoon boat or your private boat and motor, cook you a shore lunch and clean and package the fish you catch. This is an extra service and a guide can make a good trip better. Please book the guide when making your reservation.
Your fishing experience doesn’t stop at the fishing itself, our marina service includes gas, oil, aluminum boats, 15 hp. Yamaha motors, live bait, minnows, night crawlers, a basic supply of tackle, fishing and hunting licenses. Trophy fish receive special attention. Cubed ice and freezing facilities are available. We have ample dockage for float plane enthusiasts.
