Totem Point Lodge makes every effort to create an environment that caters to fishermen/women and their families, but we also recognize that not everyone wants to fish every day and so we also focus on creating an environment where there’s lots to do when fishing isn’t the order of the day.
Children and adults alike enjoy swimming, so we have an area at the end of the dock where there is a ladder for safe and easy entry and exit from the waters of the French River as well as a small sandy beach area to build sandcastles and enjoy the warm sunshine of a summer day. For those who are more adventurous, you can go in off a rocky ledge near our dining room.
We have a large deck by the boat house where some read, relax, socialize or sit and listen to the soothing sounds of our waterfall. There is hiking through the Crown land that is behind us or venture out to an island to explore nature and have a shoreline lunch. And for those who wish some water based activities we have kayaks and canoes to explore the shores of the scenic French River.
Relax and have some fun in our Games Room in a separate building from the cottages, open 24/7. One can find a pool table, dart board (darts in the office) and a TV connected to a satellite. Finally, before heading off to bed for the evening, take in the star filled skies of Totem Point Lodge and enjoy the serenity of an evening that you can only find in the northern skies of Ontario. On some evenings you can also catch a glimpse of the famous Northern Lights, a phenomenon that is truly breathtaking.
